Archive Record

Among the mountain realms of the Stoneborn, Duraz-Mirhal stands as the beating heart of dwarven commerce.

The Khorrundar clans who inhabit its vast tunnels occupy the longest mountain range in Serathorne, allowing trade routes to reach multiple powerful human kingdoms.

Through these passes flow caravans bound for:

  • Velmara
  • Cindralen
  • Fraventh

This strategic geography has made Duraz-Mirhal one of the wealthiest dwarven domains beneath the mountains.

Where other dwarven realms focus on tradition or warfare, Duraz-Mirhal thrives on trade, craftsmanship, and diplomacy.

Yndrellin Artistry

The Yndrellin communities of Duraz-Mirhal are among the most celebrated artisans in all of Serathorne.

Their delicate craftsmanship complements dwarven metalwork, creating items prized across the continent.

Their specialties include:

  • ornate jewelry for the noble houses of Fraventh
  • ceremonial armor adornments favored by Velmara
  • intricate keepsakes and relic casings sought by collectors in Cindralen

The prosperity of Duraz-Mirhal is built largely upon this partnership between dwarven industry and Yndrellin artistry.

Gralbek’s Deep

At the northern edge of the domain lies Gralbek’s Deep, the outermost dwarven settlement of Duraz-Mirhal.

In recognition of the strong trade ties with the kingdom of Velmara, this settlement is unique among dwarven cities.

It is the only dwarven stronghold constructed largely from white timber harvested from the forests of Aureholt, a rare material prized by surface civilizations.

Grakkari Skirmishes

For centuries, the tunnels beneath Duraz-Mirhal were plagued by clashes with the Grakkari clans.

These conflicts intensified after the rise of a mysterious Grakkari Priestess said to sit upon the sacred Varruk-Stone.

The Khorrundar believe the priestess receives visions from Tork, the Grakkari god of war, granting her unnatural insight into strategy and battle.

In recent generations, however, the frequency of these raids has declined.

Whether this peace is temporary or permanent remains uncertain.

Amariin Annotation

The Canonwarden archives record Duraz-Mirhal as one of the most economically influential dwarven domains in the current age.

Its position along the great mountain spine makes it a vital link between the subterranean dwarven realms and the surface nations of Serathorne.

Should these trade routes ever collapse, the economic balance of the continent would shift dramatically.
