Hunted

A quiet fishing trip. He had been here many times before.

Run! Run for your life! Run!

He carried a small blade and a bow. But the bow was for hunting and the blade for dressing. But the only thing he knew now, was fear. The sound of snarling, the rapid footsteps of the hunters. He was now the hunted.

Six Grakkari warrior scouts, howling with bloodlust, on his heels through the forest.

Life depended on him running. Running for his life.

Does he dare even look back?

The Scout

Youth vs Experience

What does  an old veteran scout drunkard who can no longer get Grakkari ears to sell do to survive?

Go after younger Grakkari.

Grankh watched as Clevus butchered his young scout training group. Five young Grakkari snared and killed in moments. Barely escaping himself, he hid in the brush watching as the old man sliced off the ears of his friends.

With fear in his heart and a soft prayer to Tork, Grankh did not turn to head back to his clan. With resolve in his heart, but no plan in his mind, he quietly left the brush and followed the old man down the mountain.

Fire in her Belly

A life of tragedy and hardship.

When she was six, the warmth in her belly started. No one in the village had ever had “The First Murmur” of magic within their belly’s at such a young age.

By the time she was nine, that warmth had turned into an oven inside her body. To coll that warmth, Anastasia spent her days with her feet in the cold stream at the base of the mountain.

As she spoke with the animals and listened to the whisper of the winds, screams of pain and agony rang across the dell. Running home, Anastasia dropped to her knees at the scene in front of her. The whole village was aflame and bandits were killing the villagers with smiles and shouts of glee.

The warmth in her belly turned into an inferno. Burning flames erupted from her small frame with ferocity and anger. She screamed, and her world went dark.

Rebels of the Swamps

Can one runaway slave change the course of her races history?

Story of Nyrris

Nyrris was an young Faun scratching out an existence in the black mire shantytown of Gravelroot harvesting Peat & Bog Iron. No kin, no family, barely feeding and clothing herself. Every evening when she returned to her hovel, exhausted, dirty and sore, she prayed to Lunirae to end her suffering in this world.  But every morning she rose. Finding the strength of will and body to face another day.

Until one evening, exhausted and alone, she was attacked by hooded figures. Her world went dark. When she awoke, she was bound in chains and attached to a line of other faun. Dozens of other young faun were huddled together. Some beaten and bruised, shivering in the damp chill of the morning air. Most cried for family or pleaded for release from their captors.

They all stopped as Nyrris began to laugh hysterically. Her laughter finally stopped after a slaver snatched her onto the ground by her horns and slammed his boot into her rib cage. But though the laughter was gone, her smile – the first one she could remember having was still bright on her face. The slaves and slavers alike all peered at her in surprise as she boldly yelled out, “I am free!!”
