Archive Record

The Amariin are spiritual beings of the Divine Realm, created directly through the will of the gods. They serve as attendants, emissaries, archivists, and enforcers of divine purpose.

Unlike mortal races, the Amariin are neither born nor summoned. They are willed into existence, shaped from the divine intention of the gods they serve.

Each major deity maintains a distinct order of Amariin reflecting their nature, domain, and temperament. Some carry the authority of judgment, others the burden of memory, and still others the silent duty of observation.

Though they rarely reveal themselves openly, the Amariin are believed to move unseen throughout Serathorne, guiding events, guarding sacred places, and delivering divine messages when required.

Their presence is rare.

Their voices rarer still.

Nature of the Amariin

Amariin are not mortal beings and do not exist within the normal cycle of life and death.

When a world ends in a Shaping, the Amariin do not perish. Instead they dissolve back into the divine will that created them, awaiting the next forming of the world.

Mortals who encounter them often report sensations connected to the god they serve:

  • the scent of ash and fire
  • the echo of distant chimes
  • sudden light where none should exist

The voice of an Amariin heard without divine filtering is said to alter the listener in profound ways.

Some emerge blessed.

Others broken.

A few become something else entirely.

Purpose and Role

The Amariin serve the gods in many capacities.

Among their known functions:

  • messengers of divine will
  • guardians of sacred sites
  • watchers of events across the world
  • enforcers of divine decree
  • archivists of cosmic memory

While they may influence events, the Amariin do not rule nations or guide mortal governments. Their interventions are rare and often subtle.

When they appear openly, it is usually because the gods have already made their decision.

Manifestation

Encounters with the Amariin are extremely rare within the Canonwarden records.

Those who have reported witnessing them describe beings of shifting form, often cloaked in light, shadow, or symbols tied to the god they serve.

Their presence is said to alter the atmosphere around them, causing unnatural stillness, sudden warmth or cold, or the sense that time itself has slowed.

No known ritual can summon an Amariin.

No shrine commands their presence.

They appear only when divine purpose demands it.

Lore Fragments

Fragments recorded within the Canonwarden archives include the following sayings:

“To see an Amariin is to know your life has already changed.”

“They do not judge. They enact.”

“No shrine calls them. No ritual binds them. They come when the gods have already decided.”

Amariin Annotation

The Canonwardens maintain that the Amariin themselves act as keepers of the divine record under the authority of Nereth’Vael, Goddess of the Canon.

While the full structure of Amariin orders remains unknown, fragments suggest specialized castes exist for memory, judgment, and divine enforcement.

Further records remain restricted within the Canon.
