They Whisper

Spanning 700 miles - mostly along the western border of  Threnval Lake, the Deadlake Mountains rise in solemn, broken towers. Here, the Grakkari do not chant in war halls or bellow oaths from peaks. They whisper. Their clans are watchers, hidden among clefts and caves, speaking only when the debt is too old to remain buried.

The Varruk-Stone is Silent No More

Among all the Grakkari clans, only the Deadlake Clans place no chieftain upon the Varruk-Stone.  Chieftains who sought glory fell to Dwarven blades. And so the Priestess stepped forward—not in ambition, but in silence.

She sat the Stone when no one else dared. That night, the stone cracked beneath her—and flame whispered through the tunnel wind. Tork had come- his blessing given.

Since that day, the Ash Priestess leads: not from shadows, but upon the throne. And none dare question her.

Stoneholds of Silence

Homes are hewn into the mountain like quiet scars. Doorways are narrow, speaking rooms narrower still. Every sound is accounted for, every word weighed. Music is rare here. Instead, stone chimes and wind-runed braziers carry meaning through tone and shadow.

The Fire Beneath

Among the Deadlake Clans, the dead are not buried—they are burned. Pine needles, heavy with oil and scent, are gathered from the mist-hollows. The smoke is guided into the tunnels, believed to carry the soul onward through stonewind paths. Where the smoke reaches, it cleanses the Grakkari presence from soil and history alike—erasing scent, memory, and trail
